What is a D.A.C.B.S.P.?

A D.A.C.B.S.P. (Diplomat of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians) is the most highly trained sports chiropractor in the field. It first requires you to achieve a C.C.S.P. which is a 100 classroom hour post graduate course followed by the successful completion of a written examination. To complete the D.A.C.B.S.P. there is an additional 200 classroom hours of post graduate study followed by successful completion of a written and practical examination, 100 hours of practical experience, and a written requirement dealing with research and/or publication approved by the board all to be completed within a three year period. Dr. Obetz was the first Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician in the state of Virginia. In 2008, there were 110 D.A.C.B.S.P.'s and 1173 C.C.S.P.'s in the world.
